Namco Bandai is giving another classic anime the fighting game treatment with the upcoming Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers. The game, based on the Saint Seiya anime series, will not just be released in Japan, but also in Europe and South America. Unfortunately, North American fans may not get this title, as no release for this region has been announced.
Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers appears to be emulating both the gameplay style and artistic design of the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi series and the upcoming JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle. Using a cel-shaded art style, the characters look like they came right out of the pages of a manga. This retro art style will complement the flashy and high-speed fight scenes the game promises to have, all of which appear to faithfully capture the unique fighting styles of the anime characters.
The following announcement trailer gives fans a sneak peek at Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers’ fighting gameplay and its large roster of fan-favorite characters.
Saint Seiya: Brave Soldiers will be released in Japan, Europe, and South America for the PlayStation 3 in autumn 2013.
