At EA’s E3 2013 analyst call, EA Labels president Frank Gibeau confirmed that the newly announce Mirror’s Edge 2 will be an “open-world action adventure game”.
Gibeau continues to discuss EA’s strategy for the upcoming year. EA is going to continue its trend of releasing few games, while attempting to make each game bigger and better, and they plan on releasing 11 HD games and 14 mobile games by the end of the fiscal year. In the long term, however, EA wants to be able to increase their release rate “as ‘Gen 4’ continues to expand and grow”.
EA also confirmed that they have “about five or six new IPs” that they haven’t announced yet. EA will watch how the market develops before discussing them, however.
