After a year which saw turmoil from its popular RPG franchise (Mass Effect) and trouble with the launch for another (SimCity), Electronic Arts came into E3 with a lot to prove. Could they keep the faith of their consumers? Let’s see…

Opening the show was Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, a third-person shooter iteration of the popular PvZ series. While moving to a different game genre, the game still looks to keep the humor and style that fans of the series love. The game will be coming to the Xbox One and Xbox 360. Before leaving, the guys from PopCap announced Peggle 2.
Next up is Titanfall, developed by Respawn. Rather than focus on gameplay, they focused on talking about multiplayer aspects and how the game was developed with the idea of being able to move around both in and out of the mech.
Following this was the reveal of Star Wars: Battlefront, coming from developer DICE and built on the Frostbyte 3 engine. This will be the third Battlefront game in the franchise. We’ll keep you updated on what the game is about.
Following that was the reveal of the next Need For Speed game, Need For Speed: Rivals. The game will have a feature called All-Drive, which will allow for jumping in and out of races in multiplayer. They also showed off a quick behind the scenes look at the next Need For Speed Movie, coming next year.
Next up was BioWare with Dragon Age: Inqusition. The game will be released in Fall 2014. Check out more here.

EA Sports was next, starting off with the re-launch of the NBA Live franchise. Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving appeared to help show off the game. Madden 25 was next with what we’ll describe as “intelligent linemen” (try wrapping your brain around that one). This was followed by FIFA 14, with rapper Drake talking about the game. Finally, UFC showed off their game, with help from UFC President Dana White, champions Jon Jones and Benson Henderson, and ring announcer Bruce Buffer.
Following the sports was DICE with Battlefield 4, the newest iteration in the Battlefield franchise. In order to show it off, got some help from 64 of their closest friends.
Well, that’s enough of that. Let’s move on.
At the end of the show, DICE revealed one final game: Mirror’s Edge. The game will be an origins story and release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
