With the Dragon’s Crown release date getting ever closer, in this regard the Japanese release, Atlus has finally unveiled the Japanese box art for the game, pictured above. It’s a standard design that is somewhat reminiscent to the Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom cover, the same game that George Kamitani took part in during the game’s development. Each playable character is shown, highlighting each of their weapons and skills to showcase what type of class they are, and what they represent from a visual stand point. Not only that, but Atlus also revealed the cover art for the artbook that will be offered as a preorder bonus for the Japanese version; just like how Odin Sphere had the same offer back in 2007.
Here’s the new trailer you were promised:
It’s almost poetic, in the sense that Dragon’s Crown is Kamitani’s answer in advancing the genre. Until the game arrives on store shelves, we will have to wait and see if the game truly delivers in that regard. Dragon’s Crown is a PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita exclusive, and will be released on July 25 in Japan and August 6 in North America.
