Spike Chunsoft, whom you may know for games such as 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, Virtue’s Last Reward, or games in the Mystery Dungeon series, may be trying to bring another one of their games outside of Japan. Ever since 2010, the company has been sending out press releases in English for most of their games, even those that have not ended up being released outside of Japan. Examples of this include a game called Danganronpa which was a visual novel style adventure game, along with Conception: Please Have My Babies(pictured), a very odd dungeon-crawler RPG where you have to meet “Star Maidens” and conceive children. These children, called “Star Children,” will assist you in combat. Both of these games had English press releases for Japan. However, neither of them have been released outside of Japan so far.
Speaking of Conception, the company just sent out a press release in English for the upcoming sequel: Conception 2. The press release stated that the game is set to be released during the summer for the PlayStation Vita and the Nintendo 3DS, however, it also notes that “The retail price is TBD and North American and/or European releases of the game are also TBD.”
This probably means that the company is willing to bring their titles over if another company can publish it. Aksys Games have published both games in the Zero Escape series, while Nintendo and Sega publish the Mystery Dungeon/Shiren games.
If Conception 2 gets confirmed for a Western release, which company do you think will handle the localization? Would you be interested in playing it?
