The Wii U eShop is adding another indie game to its upcoming line-up. The retro-style platformer, Another Castle, has been confirmed for release on Nintendo’s digital download service.
Another Castle is a 2D platformer that features randomly generated levels. The game’s main character, Andy, is constantly looking for a particular item. He never finds it though, as sadly, the item is always in another castle – a reference many old-school gamers should be familiar with.
The game is being developed by Uncade, the one-man operation run by David Byers, based in Richmond, Virginia. Byers has developed mobile games for both iOS and Android platforms with released titles including Kid Vector and Love Me Not.
There is currently a Kickstarter campaign underway, with a primary goal of just $12,000 and plenty of stretch goals. To promote Another Castle, Uncade is making its iOS games Kid Vector, Love Me Not, Blast Soccer, Haunted Hallway and Art Bomb free through this weekend.
A prototype of the game had been made available here, and you can check out the teaser trailer below. Another Castle is expected to be released in 2014.
