During today’s Nintendo Direct, a brand new 2D Metroid game was announced. Metroid Ravenous is headed to Nintendo Switch 2 on January 28th, 2027. Along with this announcement, Nintendo also announced that the game will be receiving a Special Edition and some amiibo. Metroid Ravenous: It’s eat or be eaten for Samus Aran in an all-new 2D adventure, coming to Nintendo Switch 2! Plus, the Metroid Ravenous amiibo2 collection will release with individual Samus and Chozo Statue figures at launch. A third amiibo in the lineup, Samus (Metroid Suit), will be bundled with a Special Edition that includes the game and a steel game case. Both the standard and special editions launch Jan. 28, 2027, and pre-orders begin later today.
