Armiger Entertainment has announced Tenchi Galaxy, a new anime in the Tenchi Muyo! franchise and a spiritual sequel to Tenchi Universe. Hiroshi Negishi, the director of Tenchi Universe, returns to direct Tenchi Galaxy and Toru Miura, the president of AIC, is the producer of the project. Many English voice actors of Tenchi Muyo! are reprising their roles with Cristina Vee stepping in to voice Ayeka.
The new anime is described as follows:
TENCHI GALAXY follows the Tenchi gang as they travel to the planet of the space pirates, MIKUNI, in search of an artifact that was stolen from Jurai. In order to get it back, they must face NIIMI, the queen of the space pirates. What dangers await them? What connection does Niimi have to Ryoko? And whose side is Nagi on?
A Kickstarter page is up now for the anime pilot of Tenchi Galaxy. Campaign rewards include a digital download copy, a physical Blu-ray copy, a unique steelbook for the campaign, and even a VHS version. If the Kickstarter campaign is successful enough, Armiger Entertainment will work with Toru Miura and Hiroshi Negishi to produce a full anime series.
