Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced the next remastered title in the Tales of series, Tales of Eternia Remastered. It is scheduled to launch worldwide on October 16, 2026 for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The original game released in North America in 2001 as TALES OF DESTINY II.

In Tales of Eternia Remastered, players will follow Reid Hershel and his friends on an epic journey filled with unforgettable characters and a story shaped by the cultural differences between two worlds. Set in Eternia, a world where the realms of Inferia and Celestia face each other across the sky, players will join Reid, Farah, Keele, and the mysterious Meredy on a perilous quest. Together, they must stop the “Grand Fall,” a cataclysmic collision of the two worlds, by seeking the power of the Greater Craymel while confronting their own inner selves along the way.

Featuring the Aggressive Linear Motion Battle System (A-LMBS), which enables diverse Arte usage, continued combos, and coordination with each unique party member.

All versions of the game are targeting a framerate of 60 fps. According to the Japanese Nintendo eShop page for the game, there will be no upgrade path between the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions. Save data will also not be able to be shared between the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions.

According to the Japanese website’s specification table, Tales of Eternia Remastered supports multiple text language options including Japanese, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean. It will have two voiced language options: Japanese and English.
The game will be available both digitally (all announced platforms) and physically (Switch, Switch 2, PS5) in Japan. The Switch 2 physical version in Japan is a Game-Key Card. For now, the western release appears to be digital only. A Digital Deluxe Edition will be available which includes the full game, digital artbook and soundtrack, Battle BGM Pack, and Rapid-Growth Item Bundle. Pricing is not available for the western digital release at this time.
