Fate/EXTRA Record is delayed indefinitely from its scheduled launch in Spring 2026 as a result of discussions between Notes Co., Ltd. (TYPE-MOON) and Bandai Namco Entertainment regarding the project. Though development on the game is continuing, changes will be made to the development process and Bandai Namco Entertainment is no longer publishing the title. An update on a release date and the new publisher will be provided at a later time. Bandai Namco Entertainment is discontinuing sales of the game on ASOBI STORE and any pre-orders that were made will be canceled with refunds processed.
Fate/EXTRA Record is developed by TYPE-MOON Studio BB and is planned to release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. It is a remake of the 2010 PlayStation Portable title, Fate/EXTRA. The remake was first announced in 2020 in celebration of the original’s 10th anniversary. This is not the first time the game has been delayed as it was once planned to release in 2025. As mentioned earlier, development on the game is continuing, so the project is not canceled. If you’re interested in the remake, you can follow TYPE-MOON and TYPE-MOON Studio BB on X (formerly Twitter).
