SQUARE ENIX has announced that DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined is now available for Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. The press release mentions, that anyone who purchases the game digitally will get a Slime Shield that’s unique to each platform. Also, there’s a Digital Deluxe Edition available for DRAGON QUEST VII: Reimagined as well, which will cost you $74.99.
The Digital Deluxe Edition will grant access to the White Wolf costume for Ruff. It also comes with three DLC packs. One of those three DLC packs is The Road of Regal Wretches, which lets players challenge legendary demon kings from the Erdrick Trilogy in the Battle Arena. If you defeat them you get special rewards, including Erdrick’s Sword. The second pack is the Luminary’s Livery, that lets you dress up your party to look like characters from DRAGON QUEST XI. And the final DLC pack included, is the Jam-Packed Swag Bag, which includes a collection of in-game items to help you out during your adventure.

Akira Toriyama’s classic character designs have been reimagined into a charming, hand-crafted 3D art style, complemented by diorama-inspired environments and dungeons. The story stays faithful to the original while offering a more streamlined experience and enhanced narrative depth through optional side quests, stories and minigames. The battle system is more thrilling and dynamic than ever, with dramatic changes, including “Moonlighting” – the ability to use two vocations at once – plus the adrenaline-fueled Vocational Perks and a new Monster Master vocation for summoning monsters.

- Hand-Crafted Aesthetic: The character designs, originally crafted by world-renowned manga artist Akira Toriyama, have been reimagined into a charming 3D art style using dolls actually created in the real world. Environments and dungeons are also brought to life with a unique hand-crafted, diorama-style aesthetic that vividly illustrates the beloved world of the DRAGON QUEST series.
- Enhanced Story: While remaining faithful to the original story, the narrative of DRAGON QUEST VII Reimagined has been enhanced to provide a more streamlined story experience. Alongside the main adventure, players can enjoy optional side quests, stories and minigames.
- Thrilling Battle System: The turn-based battle system has been overhauled with significant changes to offer more dynamic and thrilling battles, including an updated vocation system that features a Moonlighting mechanic, allowing players to use two vocations at once, a Vocational Perk ability that can be activated when a character gets worked up, and a new Monster Master vocation that introduces the “Positive Reinforcement” vocational perk that summons powerful monsters to assault any enemy.
- Memorable Characters – Journey alongside characters like Kiefer, the prince of Estard, and Maribel, the daughter of a mayor, as well as many other allies and enemies.
