It is officially heading into the end of the year, and I am not ready for it.

I still haven’t done a ton with all the mushrooms l I have been gathering in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Where are all the recipes for it?! This week, I am clearing out more of my island to try to develop the more northern side of things.

I am surprised fall is still ongoing, as the weather in real life is starting to get colder and there are Christmas decorations popping up everywhere now that Halloween is over with!

If you missed last week’s Tom Nook’s Snapshots, then you can check it out here.

Animal Crossing | Visiting Gayle's home.

When I logged into Animal Crossing: New Horizons today, I thought about how I don’t really spend much time checking out my islander’s homes.

After hanging out with Snooty outside, I made the time to visit Gayle at her home and check out her decor. It was unexpectedly utilitarian and wood based. What really got me was that I had given her a butterfly months ago that I caught outside, and she has it still displayed in her home.

I think I need to give her more things that I would ordinarily discard from my home or that I buy from Nook’s Cranny, only to resell just to have it in my catalog…

Decorating my home in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Practically EVERYONE was in the plaza for one reason or another today, even though it wasn’t an event. I checked in with everyone and saw how everyone was doing on my island. Cephalobot was thinking about me and called himself a ‘summoner’ for me showing up; Goose exercised and worked up a solid sweat today; Hazel got a craving for split-pea soup, and that was only three of them.

Afterwards, I went mushroom and fossil hunting. Unfortunately, Blathers already had all of those fossils, so I sold them off. I then went to my home and worked on improving the upstairs room. I added the prom walling and floor, set up a record player, and added a moss ball to the room. I am not sure what the theme will ultimately be, but I will know it when I see it!

Seeing my 100,000 Nook Miles.

Today, I broke 100,000 Nook Miles! I feel like I should spend them on something.

I stopped by Able Sisters, and I bought the visual-punk wig off of the mannequin. It is in such contrast to my hair style for this week that I couldn’t help myself. Sable also gave me a new custom pattern for this week! I should start making custom furniture for myself, eventually, and see how well that fits into my home. Maybe on the top floor?

Finally, I added the flashy-floral sign to my beach kitchen area. Maybe I should just turn it into a full-on beach bar? It feels like that it is heading that way.

Digging up a rare mushroom in Animal Crossing: New Horizons!

I did a lot of digging today in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I dug up a golden spot, I dug up a bunch of fossils, and I dug up a rare mushroom!

But most importantly, as always, I dug a tune put on by K.K. Slider. I let him pick what Hazel and I were going to hear this week, and he picked Comrade K.K. It is a very distinct, very unique sound. Afterwards, I chatted with Hazel and saw how she was doing. She told me about how the weather rocks (which it did!), and that she just wants to lay out. It was 10 P.M.-ish when she told me that, so I think she means “camping out,” but who am I to judge her?

Talking with Sable at Brewster's Cafe.

I had a tent visitor today, Kiki. She seemed really nice as she walked around inside with her chocolate-glazed doughnut, and she talked about how she wants to write more poetry and she called my island “so mellow” and “laid-back.” I thought she was super pleasant to talk to, and she didn’t surprisingly ask me to draw cards with her for items. After she and I met, I went mushroom hunting before I decided to go for a cup of coffee.

Of course, you never know who will be visiting you at Brewster’s Cafe. This time, Sable was hanging out with a cup of coffee after Able Sisters had closed for the day. She apologized for never being able to help me because her hands are always full, but she was happy we could finally just talk at the cafe and that her coffee helps her get through the day. She also talked about the fashion industry and how she has to predict people’s needs. Most intriguingly, she talked about her childhood with Mabel and about how she understands Label more now.

It is the most introspective experience that I’ve encountered in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, so far. I’ve always had a feeling that Sable was a real talker – if you can get time with her and she was comfortable – and I was pleased to find out I was correct.

Saharah talking about how smiles make her heart and purse grow bigger.

I cleared out some flowers this morning from the top of my island again. I am thinking I want to develop the northern part into something…but I am not sure what. Of course, I cannot do anything until the weeds, er, flowers are cleared out first.

Afterwards, I ran into Saharah outside of Nook’s Cranny. She sold me rugs, mysterious flooring and wallpaper, and then took five of her exchange tickets to give me an additional wallpaper. Out of all of that, the only one I really like was the oasis wallpaper.

Not a lot happened otherwise today!

Digging up flowers in the northern part of my island.

Today, I stopped by both Kicks and Nook’s Cranny, and I bought absolutely nothing from either.

So, I turned around and went up north to clear out more of the land up there of flowers. Yesterday, I only did a handful of plants, but today I cleared out a larger area. Clearing out plants is dreary work. You have to dig up plants, deal with disappearing shovels, and still toss them all away. I parked a trash can permanently at the worksite, so it is one less thing that I need to carry around with me. By the time that I was done for the day, I drew a stone pathway around, so the flowers won’t grow past the stone path and reinfect the cleared area.
