Life got so in the way that I couldn’t write this column any sooner than September 14th.

When I started Tom Nook’s Snapshots, I would play Animal Crossing: New Horizons and then write it up each night. I found myself getting both bogged down in the minute details of my in-game day to the point where there was very little happening and yet paragraphs were getting written, and so I’ve put it off until towards the end of the week when I could figure out what truly stood out for that week and then put it all together in an article.

I take a ton of screenshots each day to both help me remember what happened each day and so I can have a lot of options to choose from for this column. It often find an image that I absolutely love that I just can’t fit in elsewhere…and so it winds up being the featured image for that particular week.

This current week’s Tom Nook’s Snapshots ends on September 16, and I am going to try desperately to have it done and published before the week is out. Hopefully. Maybe.

Definitely.

Fake Nefertiti Bust in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

I spent the opening day of this week picking and selling crops to Nook’s Cranny. I am still trying to build as much money as possible so I can pay off my loan, but I am not quite there yet. When I was next changing into my outfit for this week, Gayle barged her way in! You’d think that my islanders would have the common courtesy to knock when I am changing clothes.

Finally, I went shopping at Redd’s. While I did go to Germany last year for a concert, I unfortunately did not go to Berlin to see the Nefertiti Bust at Neues Museum while there. However, I am pretty darn sure that the real statute does not have a giant earring on it. I ended up buying another painting present!

Wishing on a star in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Aside from chopping down two money trees, I spent my day today digging up more flowers and laying down a pathway. I am trying to connect all of the different ramps and pathways on the island so I’m not running through fields of flowers to get anywhere. I really wish that there was a way to just stop them from growing at all when I don’t want them…

Other than that: when I wasn’t digging, I was making wishes on stars. I have never actually seen a shooting star in real life, but I have seen them all the time in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I hope this means that Celeste will be coming again, soon…

Celeste visiting Renassia to tell a story.

It is funny how wishes can come true in Animal Crossing: New Horizons sometimes. I stepped out of my home and into Renassia late last night, and I found Celeste was visiting! I ran into her at the open-air gym that I’ve been building, and she told me all about Leo. She explained how there was a mighty lion with unbreakable skin that terrorized the Nemean forest, and how Heracles overcame the beast with just his incredible strength.

Other than talking with Celeste, I spent my day collecting the different sized star fragments that fell from the sky from all my wishes the day before. At some point, I want to make a constellation-themed room in my home…Or maybe an outside themed spot?

Listening to K.K. Slider play in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

It is Saturday night, and that can only mean one thing: it is officially time for K.K. Slider to come to play for all of us!

This week, he played Lucky K.K. for myself, Cephalobot, and Tybalt. It was a lot of fun listening to him, but I found myself wishing he played something else. I didn’t already have this song, so I gladly took the bootleg for myself to enjoy later on.

Otherwise, I found a DIY in a bottle today! But I already knew the recipe…and so I am not sure what to do with it other than toss it.

Isabelle talking about video chatting with her family.

What really surprised me today is that Isabelle talked about how she video chatted with her parents! I forget sometimes that all of these islanders must have parents of their own and lives outside of this island, and everyone just kind of moved here to try to shape their own life on this rugged, bare, island. I am happy that Isabelle still gets to talk to her family, and now I am wishing that she could take Dodo Airlines at some point to go actually see them…

Gulliver washing up on the shore again.

After chopping down yet another money tree and doing my daily money-making activities, I found myself about 1,065 Bells short of paying off my home loan. It is a little frustrating to be so, so close to paying off another loan and yet not being able to do so.

Otherwise, today I ran into Gulliver! He was washed up yet again on my island’s beach, and I found myself running around and getting him the communicator pieces he needs to get back home. He keeps sending me small knick-knacks, which I definitely appreciate – don’t get me wrong – but for which I just don’t have a lot of use for. I really wish that I could go visit him on his ship sometime.

Finally, I leaned to Tutu sing in the plaza alongside Goose and Gayle. I know that Tutu really wants to be a professional singer, and I hope that she makes her dreams come true someday!

Finding 100 Bell coins in trees.

To close out this week, I first donated an ankylo skull to the Renassia Museum, and I was excited to complete another fossil! I am always surprised that there is yet more for me to find and drop off to show off for my collection…

Other than that, I kept shaking trees to find acorns and 100 Bell coins every so often. I am not sure why there is so much money in the trees, but there it is. I also keep hoping that I will eventually find a use for the acorns, and that it won’t take the leaves changing (do the leaves turn in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?) to find a use for them.

What is the most blatant example of fake art that you’ve seen in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

How quickly have you paid off your home loans?
