We here at oprainfall don’t just love video games: we’re big fans of anime, too. So in celebration of the medium, we’re here to give you our thoughts on what we’ve been watching each week as we watch it. Old, new – anything goes.

Princess Connect! Re: Dive
The final battle finally comes with everyone coming together. Yuki’s power really comes in to help finish it, which shows how he’s come along from the barely functioning person from the very first episodes. Things really get down to the line as the fight takes another turn with Karyl coming in also. We finally get a resolution with Pecorine’s place being restored and everything coming together. Things wrap up nicely with the guild shown to still be going. The season wraps things up well with the last few episodes building up well. I’m curious to see if they eventually move to make another season since the story in the game continues further than where this ended. Either way this show was definitely a highlight for me this season. – Walter

Miss Kuroitsu from the Monster Development Department
This show continued to be a favorite of mine. The comedy of the series played out well for me, not to mention all the references they made. The differences between the heroes such as the magical girls and local heroes played well against the members of the evil societies. Megistus continues being all around great with nearly every appearance he makes. The temp workers of Mizuki and Matsuyama eventually and surprisingly move up as they suffer through the nature of the work also played out well. A number of scenes played out well, such as the the story about idols and my favorite about a certain bar Kuroitsu visits. The way in which they brought in all the characters in the last episode was also great, not to mention of course another design issue in the end. This is a series that I would be happy to see a new season for. – Walter

Old Shows:
The Demon Girl Next Door
I decided to watch a little bit of this again since the new season will be premiering soon. Yuko or Shamiko (Shadow Mistress Yuko) wakes up one day to find her appearance becoming demonic and has a connection form with a demon ancestor. She sets out to free her family from a curse and attempts to take on a magical girl. This is extremely difficult as Shamiko is very far from being a fighter and isn’t the most clever. Her rival ends up befriending the poverty-stricken demon and even helps train her. Shamiko is a pretty weak character who has bad luck with everything but doesn’t give up, so it’s hard to dislike her. You can’t help but feel bad for her, such as the early times she meets a magical girl and expects to be badly beaten and cries. There are also a lot of gags, such as her ancestor’s statue misfortunes and Yuko’s money woes. It’s a relaxing series that I’m glad is getting to continue on. – Walter
