Wonder Boy Asha in Monster World ($34.99) has just arrived on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. The digital editions are being published by STUDIOARTDINK, while the physical ones have been handled by ININ Games. The game itself was developed by MONKEY CRAFT. Furthermore, the launch press release states that all physical editions of the game also include the original Monster World IV exclusively. The three limited editions are exclusively available at Strictly Limited Games.
Wonder Boy Asha in Monster World is a remastered action adventure, now featuring enhanced 3D graphics, and a plethora of improvements to the gameplay. The voice over work has also had a lot of attention devoted to it. Of course, the game also aims to stay true to the original, Monster World IV.
Asha finds herself on a quest to free spirits imprisoned by the forces of darkness. Along the way, a blue Pepelogoo will keep her company. They must work together if they are going to save the world!
Development of this remaster was overseen by Monster World series creator, Ryuichi Nishizawa, who is very excited to see the game finally get into players’ hands. His comments were featured in the press release:
“Now the adventure of Asha and Pepelogoo can be played on the latest consoles. Whether you’ve played the Mega Drive version of MW4 or not, I’ve tried to make it enjoyable for everyone. This is what I consider to be an ideal remake. I hope you will enjoy the game! Welcome to Monster World!”
