A few weeks back we covered an announcement from Flyleaf Studios regarding their upcoming project, Kandra: The Moonwalker. In that announcement they revealed they had plans to take the project to Kickstarter in the interest of gaining some additional funding to expand what they could do with the game and they’ve recently done just that.
Kandra: The Moonwalker‘s Kickstarter campaign is officially underway and they’re already 26% funded with over 30 days to go. Kandra: The Moonwalker will be a 3D platformer and adventure game about a young moonwalker, a race of guardian creatures that protect magic, named, as you may have figured out by now, Kandra. Years ago the moonwalkers vanished, magic vanishing with them, ushering in a new age of darkness and paving the way for evil creatures to corrupt the land. Kandra must recover the stolen moonwalker feathers to restore the moonwalkers and undo the damage done.
Kandra: The Moonwalker sort of reminds me of Ori and the Blind Forest but , like, 3D. Flyleaf Studio is looking to get at least $30,420 and are currently sitting at just over $9,000 with 32 days remaining in the Kickstarter. The campaign includes a number of stretch goals that include things like new features, an additional playable character, a complete slide story, as well as consoles ports for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation consoles. A digital copy of the game can be obtained with a pledge of around $13 with a lot of other rewards also being available.
Kandra: The Moonwalker is set to come to a PC near you by the end of 2021, with possible console ports if the campaigns stretch goals are reached. Be sure to give the campaign a once-over if you think you might be interested.
