In volume 13 of TYPE-MOON Ace, the next installment in the Melty Blood fighting game franchise was announced. Melty Blood: Type Lumina is a “what-if” scenario that takes place before the events of Tsukihime Remake. Because of this, Sion, a character featured in previous games in the series, will not be appearing.
Melty Blood: Type Lumina is scheduled to launch worldwide in 2021 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch with rollback netcode. French Bread, developers of the previous games in the series and Under Night In-Birth, are working on the game. DELiGHTWORKS, the developers of Fate/Grand Order, are also involved in the game’s development.
So far, 4 playable characters have been confirmed. The 4 characters are as follows:
- Shiki Tohno (CV. Ryousuke Kanemoto)
- Arcueid Brunestud (CV. Ikumi Hasegawa)
- Ciel (CV. Kaede Hondo)
- Akiha Tohno (CV. Shino Shimoji)
