Dotemu is at it again reviving a classic beat em’ up franchise. Last year they published and co-developed Streets of Rage 4, and now they’re working with developers Tribute Games Inc. to bring back another classic arcade beat em’ up with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, and this announcement comes with a shiny new trailer to boot.
Opening with a slickly animated intro featuring the iconic theme from the 90’s cartoon, this trailer is dripping with nostalgia. In terms of gameplay it looks to draw a great deal of inspiration from classic arcade titles like the original arcade game and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time. These games, and of course this franchise, are quite well loved by many and hopefully Shredder’s Revenge will live up to their standards. Developers, Tribute Games, have previously made titles such as Panzer Paladin, Flint Hook, and Mercenary Kings. Games that were pretty well received, so perhaps it’s in the right hands.
