Action-adventure platforming powerhouse the Prince of Persia is getting the remake treatment when Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake launches on Jan. 21, 2021.
Ubisoft announced the remake during its UbiForward event. The full-scale remake features new enemy character models and cinematic sequences, as well as enhanced voices, sounds, parkour animations, and soundtrack. The camera, controls, and combat have been rebuilt and updated for modern standards, but players will have the option of playing using classic controls, as well. The game’s key feature, the Dagger of Time, returns to help players accelerate, freeze, and slow time itself to better solve puzzles on the Prince’s journey to save his kingdom from the treacherous Vizier. Players will also be able to unlock the original 1989 Prince of Persia.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time originally released in Nov. 2003, for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, Gamecube and Game Boy Advance. The remake will be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Pre-orders list the game at $39.99 USD.
