The Evercade is a brand new handheld retro gaming console launching on May 22nd. It features a screen that is 4.3″ in size. This is in fact the same size as the PSP’s screen. In addition, the console also supports output to a TV via HDMI, and they’ve just announced a new cartridge coming to its library later in the year. The Atari Lynx Collection 2 Evercade cartridge contains eight officially licensed retro games. This new cartridge will be coming sometime in the third quarter of 2020. Here are the eight games featured on the Atari Lynx Collection 2 Evercade cartridge:
- California Games
- Todd’s Adventures in Slimeworld
- Electro Cop
- Gates of Zendocon
- Zarlor Mercenary
- Blue Lightning
- Chips Challenge
- Checkered Flag
There is also a page for the first Atari Lynx Collection 1 Evercade cartridge on that site, which is also coming out in the third quarter of this year according to that page. That cartridge has 17 games on it. Here’s a look at the Evercade itself:
Currently the Evercade library has eleven other cartridges in it, which collectively contain 145 officially licensed retro games. According to the press release, another currently unannounced cartridge is also already in the works. 10 cartridges will be available at the console’s launch later this month, with 3 to 5 more planned to come out later this year. They’ve also announced that arcade games are coming to the Evercade.
