Banner of the Maid lets players join the French Revolution in a turn-based-strategy style with some JRPG elements mixed in. The game was first launched in China in May of 2019, with an 89% user approval score on Steam. Today, Azure Flame Studio and publisher CE-Asia are excited to announce that the game’s English release has just launched. It is priced at $16.99.
Players take on the role of young officer Pauline Bonaparte in an alternate French Revolution. In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, lead your troops to victory in battles, while taking part in the political landscape as well. Your troops will include some of the most iconic from this era. Furthermore, Pauline is not simply an exceptional young officer, but also a maid (meaning she is one of a few fabled women with the power to turn the tide of battle). Along the way, you’ll need to embark on quests or challenges to gain funds, secure supplies, or achieve political favor. You’ll need funds to improve both your supplies and weaponry in order to keep yourself ready for anything. However, if you’re not careful, your choices may wind up tipping the balance of power in unintended ways.
The battles you’ll wage in Banner of the Maid will take place across more than 30 differing terrains, from cities, to wide open plains, to snowcapped mountains. You’ll also have to contend with changing environmental conditions such as fog and snow. There are over 30 generals, each with unique backgrounds and skills that you can train to improve. You’ll need to talk to each of them to discover their stories and of course earn their trust.
