Tozai Games is excited to announce that R-Type Dimensions EX has now landed on iOS. It contains two arcade classics from the coin-operated era of the 80s. R-Type was first released in 1987, and was succeeded in 1989 by R-Type II. In R-Type Dimensions EX, players have the option to play with or without the improved audio and visuals. There are also new game modes. The press release notes that the co-op mode is NOT available in the mobile versions of this game, though. The game has previously released on PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4. The new iOS version is available now in the App Store for $4.99.

R-Type Dimensions EX allows you to play using the classic 2D sprite-based visuals, or new 3D graphics. The same goes for the music. Players can learn each stage like the back of their hand via the Stage Select option, or enter Infinite Mode to conquer the Bydos with an infinite fleet worth of ships. There are also slow motion and fast forward buttons that let you change the game speed with a single button press to give yourself a little help, or make things harder. You can also fight to make your way up the online leaderboards.

You can find out more about the game at the official website, or on the App Store page.

Michael Fontanini
Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
