Well boys and girls, it’s a good week and a bad week for the Nintendo Download. The good is that tomorrow Super Mario Maker 2 officially launches! The bad news is, all the other games are gonna get pushed into the corner by that behemoth. But I’ll still do my very best to share other compelling games this week, including the usual sales and digital goodies. Let’s get started with the next game that will be dominating all my free time.
The primary complaint I had about Super Mario Maker was that it wasn’t on a portable system. Enter Super Mario Maker 2, which is completely portable thanks to the Nintendo Switch. I love how this one will also have a Story mode as well as robust features to expand on the great formula from the first game. Frankly, my only nagging complaint is that there is still no dedicated Switch stylus courtesy of Nintendo (at least in the United States). But that won’t stop me from enjoying the hell out of the game starting tomorrow. If you’re also excited about the latest Mario Maker, stay tuned for the return of a oprainfall feature sharing custom made levels from the latest game. If you need more games with user created content, then you might also be excited about the next featured title. Dragon Quest Builders 2 has a demo live right now, though the game officially is out July 12th. So if you loved the first Dragon Quest Builders game and need more, you won’t have much longer to wait. Next up, let’s jump over to some new sales worth checking out.

You’d think we can calm down on the games now, but the digital offerings are pretty robust as well. The following are out starting next week, but after those there’s plenty more. If you’re looking for a different romance sim, try Dream Daddy. For a stylish RPG, try Lucah: Born of a Dream. And finally, for a truly interesting puzzle platformer, try OVIVO.
Not enough games this Nintendo Download? Good, cause here’s a ton more! If you need more retro, try the following – Arcade Archives Wild Western, and SEGA AGES Virtua Racing and Wonder Boy: Monster Land. If you love adventure games and VNs, you’ll probably enjoy one of the following – Another Sight, Baobabs Mausoleum Ep.2: 1313 Barnabas Dead End Drive, Bitlogic – A Cyberpunk Arcade Adventure, Irony Curtain: From Matryoshka with Love, NEKOPARA Vol. 3 and Rain City. Fans of platformers should appreciate Human Rocket Person and Furwind. For some games that require a bit more brain power, try Dandy Dungeon – Legend of Brave Yamada –, Graveyard Keeper and Lines X. For a blast from the past, try Devil May Cry. And lastly, for a couple different games with lots of explosive mayhem, try O-YO Blaster and War Tech Fighters. And if you still want more games, I don’t know what to tell you, I’m fresh out.
