Classic vertical scrolling shooter Tatsujin lifts off with a new look as new DLC for Game Tengoku.
Originally released in arcades by Toaplan in 1988 and later on consoles with a name change to Truxton for some regions, Tatsujin featured a genre-defining bomb mechanic, lengthy stages, and great music. Oh, and a laser made of thunder.
Now it’s available for modern consoles, faithfully recreated, replete with thunder laser, Tatsujin bomb and original music tracks too. The ship is playable in all modes in Arcade Mode +
Game Tengoku (Game Paradise) was a vertically scrolling arcade shooting game released in 1995 by Jaleco with a Japan-exclusive console follow up which added a fully voiced story mode, with a scenario which parodied ’90s gaming culture and characters culled from Jaleco’s library.
CruisinMix Special is an enhanced update release featuring more characters, music and a library mode with information about each title featured.
Tatsujin is available on PSN for $9.99 USD, on PSN EU for £7.99, or €9.99; and on Steam for $9.99 USD.
