It’s the first Nintendo Download of May, and this one is short and sweet. We only have a couple featured games, some usual sales and digital offerings. So let’s see what games Nintendo is pushing first.
Have you ever wanted to run a gang in the sunny climate of Hawaii? If so, then you’re in luck with Shakedown: Hawaii. You get to play as one of three protagonists in a 16 bit open world. Sabotage competitors, acquire businesses and shake down poor saps. If that sounds fun, you’ll be able to play it starting next week. Next up, if you love some puzzle mayhem with gooey slime, Puyo Puyo Champions is the game for you. While I personally prefer Tetris, this one is sure to offer lots of laid back fun. With those out of the way, let’s move onto some sales.
Before we try out the Game Guide, NISA has a special sale this week. Specifically their Golden Week Sale, and it lasts until next Tuesday. They have some juicy discounts on a variety of games, but I’ll just cover those I think most relevant. Those are Culdcept Revolt, Disgaea 1 Complete, Disgaea 5 Complete, GOD WARS The Complete Legend, Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk, The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince, The Lost Child and Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. Firstly, if you are hankering from some retro goodness, then enjoy the following – Aracade Archives Psycho Soldier, Shadows of Adam and Venture Kid. Fans of adventure games have a duo to check out in Isoland and Isoland 2 – Ashes of Time. Or if you prefer hack and slash, try The Swords of Ditto: Mormo’s Curse, Strike Suit Zero: Director’s Cut and Hellmut: The Badass from Hell. For a couple games with some mature edge, try Panty Party and the incomparable VA-11 Hall-A. For something utterly quackers, try Duck Game. Or for a challenging platformer, try HexaGravity. For a couple different SHMUPs, try Black Paradox and Gyro Boss DX. And lastly, for something completely different from the folks at Game Freak, try Giga Wrecker Alt.
Not a bad week overall, albeit a little short. Thanks as always for joining us at oprainfall for your Nintendo Download, and be sure to tune in next time for even more great games.
