Well guys and gals, if it’s Thursday, that means it’s time for another Nintendo Download. This week has a bunch to offer, including several headliner games, more sales and discounts and another fresh truckload of digital offerings. So let’s stop wasting time and get started!
First, a quick clarification. The initial games I cover ever week are NOT decided by me, but by Nintendo. The only input I have is snarky commentary and occasionally not covering games I believe our audience won’t care about. Having said that, I’m only going to mention 4 out of the 5 headliners this week, starting with SMITE. It looks to be a cooperative free to play fantasy adventure. While we don’t normally cover those games, it looks decent enough to at least mention it. Next up is a very strange title – Goat Simulator: The GOATY. If you’ve ever wanted to destroy a bunch of things as a ornery animal, this is the game for you. For those nostalgic for games like The Lost Vikings, this next title may be for you. It’s called Unruly Heroes and it is inspired by Journey to the West. And lastly, for those who enjoy beauty in simplicity, there’s Pikuniku. Not a bad start, but let’s continue with an activity.
If you’re deep into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and haven’t yet registered your game, the next activity is a good final reminder:
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Piranha Plant Limited-Time Offer – There’s only one week left to purchase and register your Super Smash Bros. Ultimate game by Jan. 31 for a free download code to play as Piranha Plant when it releases.

Finally, let’s close things out as always with some digital offerings. These first few games are out starting next week. For a game that explores depression, there’s Drowning. For a more upbeat SHMUP, check out Hyperide. For a colorful 3D adventure, there is Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy. Or for a hardcore brawler, there is Unworthy. For a creative action RPG, try Mages of Mystralia. And lastly, for a atmospheric puzzle game, look no further than Inops. The rest are all out this week.
For those looking for retro, there’s ACA NEOGEO Ninja Master’s (not a typo) and Dragon’s Lair Trilogy. Fans of RPGs may enjoy Asdivine Hearts II and Legrand Legacy. If you enjoy hardcore platforming, you may like Cursed Castilla. Or if you love you some Cthulhu, check out Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics. And finally, for an emotional puzzle adventure, try My Memory of Us. Overall, not a bad week at all, though I’m personally salivating over a new digital release next Friday.
Thanks as always for joining oprainfall for your Nintendo Download this week. Be sure to tune in next Thursday for even more upcoming games to check out!
