A new Ghost in the Shell anime is in production by Production I.G and Sola Digital Arts. Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 will be directed by Appleseed‘s Shinji Aramaki and Stand Alone Complex‘s Kenji Kamiyama. The series will be fully animated in 3DCG and premiere exclusively worldwide on Netflix in 2020.
The franchise was started by the manga of the same name by Masamune Shirow. It has inspired many different types of media including 5 anime films, 3 TV anime series, and a live-action film adaptation.
