Square Enix recently trademarked Parasite Eve in Europe.

The survival horror and JRPG hybrid first arrived on the original PlayStation in 1998 and followed New York police officer Aya Brea who fought horrific mutated creatures. It was a sequel to the Japanese movie of the same name, with the movie being an adaptation of the book Parasite Eve by Hideaki Sena. The game had become a beloved Square entry during their experimental days on the system. It spawned a sequel on the same console a year later with Parasite Eve 2. It then became dormant from 2000 up until 2010 with the release of The Third Birthday. Originally announced as a mobile game, it found its way to the PlayStation Portable instead and was released to critical and financial failure leading the series to remain quiet once again. It is uncertain if this trademark means a new game is on the way, whether it be a new installment to continue the story of Aya Brea or a complete reboot altogether.

Mo is an avid JRPG and horror fan whose interest in gaming began at 4 years old when his parents bought him his first console: the Sega Genesis. His love for horror games started from buying a mint condition Resident Evil 2 at a yard sale and was too spooked as a kid to play it until years later where he learned to love it. The love for JRPGs began around this time too as he found comfort in Final Fantasy 4 after his initial zombie scare. Today he still plays both franchises and on his spare time likes to visit art walks and museums, find hole in the wall restaurants, hikes, and do some freelance story writing (or at least attempt to).
