Late last week, we reported on an interview between Spike Chunsoft CEO Mitsutoshi Sakurai and Siliconera at GDC where the company seemingly confirmed that they were planning on bringing Mages visual novel Robotics;Notes to the west. Unfortunately, however, it seems there was a misunderstanding, and no localization was officially confirmed.
According to an update on Siliconera’s announcement, a representative from Spike Chunsoft contacted them to deny the confirmation. Apparently Sakurai’s statement was meant as an intent to bring multiple Mages titles to the west, which may include Robotics;Notes.
Hopefully we’ll be hearing more about these “multiple Mages titles” in the near future. Until then, though, this will likely come as a disappointment to those looking forward to the only Science Adventure title to never have received any kind of English translation, official or otherwise.
