BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. has revealed some more details for Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet. The information includes details on a new optional story mode involving Kirito as well as a costume creation quest involving Asuna.
The first new mode introduced is called Kirito Mode. In this mode, the player takes control of Kirito, the main protagonist of the light novels, as he fights his way through the Bullet of Bullets tournament in order to confront Death Gun. The player will be able to freely explore the Remnant Wastelands map and have the ability to use weapons such as the handgun, sniper rifle, and photon saber.
Kirito Mode will have a story close to the Phantom Bullet arc featured in the original Sword Art Online light novels. The mode is completely optional and can be played separately from Fatal Bullet‘s original story.
A new costume creation quest featuring Asuna was also introduced. The quest line is called “Asuna’s Clothes Quest” and allows players to gain costumes not obtainable in stores. Players must collect costume recipes by earning rewards. They must then bring the recipes and materials needed to Asuna and she will create the custom costume for the player.
Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet is set to release on February 8 in Japan and February 23, 2018 in North America and Europe for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam. The game is developed by Dimps and will be published by Bandai Namco Entertainment.
