Remember Gunstar Heroes on the Genesis or Mega Drive? This insane side-scrolling action game was a hit among fans back in the day and is still enjoyed by many today. Data Discs will be pressing the OST on two LPs and they will be available to purchase today at 7:00PM in the UK, which would be around 2:00 PM EDT and 11:00 AM PDT. As with previous releases from them, they will include lots of great high quality artwork. You can see their official announcement via Twitter below:

This is very exciting news for fans of the game or those who just enjoy great 16-bit tunes! For those of you who want to give the game a shot, copies of the Genesis version are starting to get a bit pricey. Thankfully it was released on Steam and recently received a 3D re-release on the Nintendo 3DS. There was also a follow up known as Gunstar Super Heroes released on the Game Boy Advance. Even though that game lacks the 2- player mode from the original game, it more than makes up for it in the action and is highly recommended.
