Project Giant Robot has finally been canceled by Nintendo. When Nintendo announced The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as the last first-party Wii U game, a red flag went up. The game, a sort of Rock’em, Sock’em Robots but with giant robots, never even received a proper title.
When asked by Polygon why they canceled the game, Nintendo said, “we made this decision after considering our overall product and development strategy.”
Project Giant Robot was originally revealed at E3 2014. The last first-party Wii U game, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, comes out March 3rd. The title is also a launch title for the Nintendo Switch.
