Little Nightmares

Little Nightmares

The developers behind Little Nightmare have released a very unique and interesting demo, according to their press release. It is an online demo that uses a choose-your-own-adventure style. You watch a video clip, and then you are given several choices. It will then play another video clip in response you your choice. Ok, but what is your goal? Well, you are the little girl dressed in yellow above. Her name is Six, and she must escape “The Maw.” Failing to do so is not an option, unless the prospect of ending up dead doesn’t bother you!

As the demo begins, you find yourself in a creepy environment. It only gets worse as you push forward and learn more about what is going on around you. There are some mysterious gnomes hiding around in some areas in this world, and a bit later you’ll meet a larger chef creature. You can quickly ascertain that his intentions are dark and sinister, and that you should get the heck out of here! You can play the choose-your-own-adventure style Little Nightmares demo right here.

Little Nightmares

With Halloween only days away, it’s a very appropriate time to release this creepy demo. The full game is set to release on Steam, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 sometime in 2017. The art style is very nice and adds to the eeriness of the environment you find yourself in. The character animations are very well-made, too. As you progress through the Little Nightmares demo, there are some puzzles along the way. They do tend to be pretty easy since you are just given a few choices between video clips. But of course, that will be different in the full game since you’ll have much more control, I imagine.

What do you think about Little Nightmares? Let us know in the comments. Also, what do you think about this creative style they chose for their demo?

Michael Fontanini
Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
