It appears a Nintendo representative has told Famitsu that the Nintendo Switch will not support 3DS cartridges or Wii U games discs. This breaks Nintendo’s long string of backwards compatible consoles. They didn’t mention if the console would support 3DS or Wii U digital games. Nintendo also didn’t rule out the possibility of ports of the older games showing up on the system at some point.
Famitsu also inquired about the battery life of the console, Nintendo had no details to give at this time. They did however say the system stamina would allow you to play “comfortably” away from an outlet.
We’ll share more details about the Nintendo Switch as information is released.
