GungHo Online Entertainment has recently confirmed the release date for its newest game, Dokuro. Coming out on October 16, 2012 for the PlayStation Vita, Dokuro is an imaginative twist on the typical hero-saves-princess plot device. The game stars a skeleton servant named Dokuro. After his master, the Dark Lord, abducts a princess for a forced marriage, Dokuro falls in love with her and vows to help her escape, even if his love is unrequited.
To help the princess to freedom, Dokuro must brave stages filled with obstacles and monsters. There will be a number of power-ups along the way, including a magic formula that enables Dokuro to turn into a saber-wielding hero in times of crisis.
Filled with puzzles designed to test your intuition, this charming platformer contains about 150 levels of varying difficulties, and will be available for North American PlayStation Vita owners on the PlayStation Network for $19.99.
Dokuro will also be released in Europe sometime this winter, though no release date has been announced yet.
