First we had girls who can transform into weapons with Valkyrie Drive, and now we have girls who can transform into cars. The game is called, appropriately, Drive Girls and is being developed by Bergsala Lightweight. The team plans on showing off the game at Tokyo Game Show on September 15 and 17, but they have released a batch of screenshots and information in the meantime. The game releases in Japan for the Playstation Vita in January 2017.
The characters in the game have two forms:
- Fighting Form – A form where you pull off combos and attack the robot-insect menace that plagues the game.
- Driving Form – A form where you move much faster and can use the bulk of the car to run down your enemies.
Also featured in the game is car customization in the form of stickers. With the money you earn throughout the game, you can buy and decorate your car, which can provide stat boosts. The stickers also show up when the girls aren’t in their car forms.
Similar to how car games show damage to the vehicles, the girls themselves can also loose parts to their outfits.
Lastly, there is an ad-hoc and internet multiplayer mode where you can play cooperatively with your customized car girl.
Speaking of the girls, their designs were created by by UGUME. The game will have a fully voiced story mode.
