PAX West is just around the corner, and Nintendo is doing their best to strut their stuff and show off the games that will be on display. Nintendo’s Senior VP had a lot to say, stating “PAX West gives Nintendo a great opportunity to showcase both mainstream and Nindie titles to a video game savvy audience,”. He also went on to say “Having the show essentially in Nintendo’s backyard and getting a chance to connect with our fans makes it all the more special for us.”
As for specifics, they will have several big names on display. First and foremost is perhaps Pokémon Sun and Moon, which are sure to be incredibly popular entries in the enormous series. They will also have the second entry in the marvelously popular (in Japan, at least) Yo-Kai Watch. I truly was impressed with the first game, and think Yo-Kai Watch 2 is shaping up nicely, as well as differentiating itself from Pokémon in several key ways. Though this one isn’t for me, they will also have Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past.
The real draw for me will be the Nindies on display, which is always an eclectic mix of games. Those will include Punch Club, Runbow Pocket and World to the West (by the incredibly talented Rain games, of Teslagrad fame)! For those not able to make the show, they will also have Nindies@Night before PAX, allowing fans to try out several great games at the EMP in Seattle. And last but not least, they will have the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition hardware on display, for fans of classic goodies. All in all, PAX West is shaping up to be another great year. Stay tuned to oprainfall for exclusive hands on demos and coverage from the floor show!
