The 20th anniversary of Pokémon is fast approaching, and Nintendo is celebrating with a little friendly competition in Splatoon. For the first-time ever, the upcoming Splatfest will take place worldwide with all regions dealing with their first two Pokémon games. In North America and Europe, it will be Red Version vs. Blue Version, while Japan will showcase Red Version vs. Green Version. Like always, the Splatfest will be locked by region, so it will be interesting to see which version is most popular and toughest across the board.
Callie and Marie introduced the Splatfest as always and exchanged a few quips for their preferred Pokémon game.
They even gave a nod to an anthem that should be familiar to anyone who has seen the Pokémon anime series.
The Pokémon Splatfest will kickoff in Splatoon from February 19 to February 20.
