Fire Emblem Fates had a mini-game in it’s Japanese release that gave players the ability to touch, poke, and stroke characters in the lower 3DS’ screen.
It’s been discovered that Nintendo has made the choice to remove the feature from the Western release of the game. Kotaku has reached out to the company to confirm the removal of the feature. Nintendo gave them this response:
Yes, that is the case. You might have heard somewhat misinterpreted or exaggerated information about the Japanese original game, but even in the Japanese original version, we have not included any features which are considered inappropriate in Japan.
The representative is stating that this scene is considered “appropriate” for Japan, but not for the West.
This is in addition to the another scene that has received some Western changes.
Fire Emblem Fates will release on February 19 on the 3DS.
