Dengeki Online reported that the Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omotta (And You Thought There is Never a Girl Online?) light novel series would be receiving an anime adaptation. The light novel series is authored by Shibai Kineko and is illustrated by Hisasi. The stage event for the anime adaptation will be held on October 4 during the Dengeki Bunko Aki no Saiten in Akihabara.
Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omotta is written by Shibai Kineko. Kineko first authored Anata no Machi no Toshi Denki! (Urban Demons in Your Town!) in 2011 and won a Gold Prize in the 18th Dengeki Novel Grand Prix. After this he began writing Netoge no Yome in July 2013 with Hisasi as the illustrator. The light novel currently has 8 volumes in print. The novel is published by ASCII Media Works under their Dengeki Bunko imprint. A manga adaptation for the novel series began serialization on August 2014 under ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki G’s Comic magazine. The manga is illustrated by Kazui Ishigami and the first tankoban volume of the adaptation was released in March 2015. The cover illustrations for the latest volume of the novel and the first volume of the manga can be seen below. The illustrations feature the main heroine, Ako Tamaki.

Hideki Nishimura confessed to a person he thought was a girl online, only for that person to turn out to be a boy. He keeps this “black history” secret and swears to never to trust a “girl” online again. However, one day a girl online confesses to him, and it turns out she’s actually a beautiful girl named Ako Tamaki. Ako cannot tell the difference between the online world and reality, and she is a loner who has trouble communicating. Hideki and his friends from his guild decide to work together to “correct” her.
The staff and cast for the Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omotta anime adaptation have not been revealed yet and will be provided at a later date.
