The co-game director and art director of Life is Strange, Michel Koch, recently revealed a trailer for the second part of Dontnod Entertainment‘s episodic game on the PlayStation Blog. In the post, Koch promises new locations, new choices, repercussions from choices in Episode 1, new characters, and an expanded understanding of the social issues facing the town of Arcadia Bay. The trailer itself does showcase these things, as well as some new music and a release date of March 24th. Check it out below:
Life is Strange is a five-part episodic adventure game, featuring gameplay and dialogue choices much in the style of Telltale games like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, though uniquely, it features a time-rewinding mechanic that allows you to change dialogue options and make choices to your fitting. Dontnod teamed up with Square Enix as their publisher for Life is Strange, a move done gladly as Square Enix made no attempts to change one of the lead females to male–something other publishers attempted to do. The team has been very receptive to the fan response from the first episode, which released in late January. Much like its critical reception, fans have been relatively positive, and Koch encourages fans to continue making Let’s Plays, fan art, and commenting via social media.
Episode 2: Out of Time releases on Tuesday. For those who purchased Episode 1, the Season Pass for episodes 2-5 is $17.99, and for those who have not played it yet, the Complete Season bundle with all the episodes is $19.99. Life is Strange is available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and also on Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Steam.
