New Japanese gameplay footage of one of Nintendo’s most unexpected titles, Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition, has been released! A crossover with the popular free-to-play mobile game Puzzle & Dragons, the 3DS puzzle-RPG promises a fun blend of the mobile game’s gameplay with the beloved characters and setting of the Mario universe. The new trailer shows off puzzle battles, the Power-Up Fusion mechanic, and some of the available characters to recruit to your party (Fire, Boo, and Statue variants of the red plumber all appear, along with Tanooki Luigi, several flavors of Yoshi, and more).
Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition will be released as a stand-alone title in Japan on April 29, with releases in North America and Europe following in May. Western releases will be bundled with Puzzle & Dragons Z.
