In a recent interview with Nikkei, Satoru Iwata revealed Nintendo’s plans to build a new app for social media platforms. Iwata reaffirmed Nintendo’s stance to not bring Nintendo software to smartphones and tablets. When describing the app, He said the following, “some Nintendo game consoles incorporate Mii, which creates a digital avatar to represent players. It would be fun for players to use their Mii characters as icons on social media.” There is currently no specific reveal date for the App, but Iwata stated the app’s announcement would likely happen at the same Nintendo’s yearly results are revealed.
