Beat Booster is a motion-controlled indie racing game from Current Circus, who also developed the free-roaming musical game Muse. The game is capable of using a standard webcam to detect your movements, which then moves your character in-game. There are a total of 15 tracks to race around in, and the ones in the trailer look gorgeous.
Here’s the trailer; following it is the game’s information found in the video’s description:
Beat Booster a is fast-paced racing game where players use full-body motion to control the avatar as they steer through exotic environments, pickup energetic power and navigate through 15 racing tracks that feature volcanoes, canyons, tropical forests and dark caves.
Without relying on a traditional, hand-held controller, players are launched into an adrenaline-pumping aerial course filled with stimulating obstacles and challenges as they fight off opponents with sonic weapons and collect much-needed energy along the way to boost ahead of the pack.
Personally, I think this game looks pretty interesting, and I may well end up picking it up myself.
Beat Booster is Current Circus’ first game, and is out now on the Windows Store. A free trial of the game is available, which can also be found on the store.
