The hyped Steam Machine that everyone has been waiting years for is getting closer to a reality. A couple of weeks ago, Valve showed off SteamOS, an operating system to be used for Steam. Soon after, they revealed the Steam controller, a unique device that uses trackpads instead of analog sticks or directional pads, as well as a touchpad in the middle.
On Friday, Valve revealed the specs of the beta kits they’ll be sending out to Steam users. For the record, Valve will have a number of Steam Machines, each with a range of specs that will vary substantially from Valve’s own prototype.
