At the end of the latest live information stream for Blue Archive in Japan, Yostar President and CEO, Li Hengda, made a huge announcement. Starting in January 2027, Blue Archive JP will change publishers from Yostar to Nexon. Discussions regarding the game’s future operational structure began around one year ago. After long discussions between the two companies, it was mutually agreed to terminate the publishing contract between the two companies and transfer operating and distribution rights of Blue Archive to Nexon in Japan. Despite the publisher change, Blue Archive will continue service in Japan. Li Hengda says that until the day publisher changes, Yostar will continue to operate Blue Archive responsibly. The game’s executive producer, Kim Yong-ha, also released a statement regarding the publisher change which can be read on IO DIVISION’s X account. An interview video featuring Li Hengda and Kim Yong-ha is scheduled to release in November 2026.

A special information website regarding the publisher change is now open. According to the website, NEXON Games remains the game’s development company and no changes to the game’s development structure will be made. Game account data will be carried over and all items including Pyroxene (in-game premium currency) will remain. For the existing PC version, Nexon is preparing a new environment for JP players to use. More details will be provided when they are finalized. In regards to items outside of the game, all currently announced tie-in campaigns, merchandise, and other developments will continue even after the publisher change. Nexon plans to deliver various initiatives including live streams, offline events, merchandise, and collaborations even after the publisher change. More information regarding account data, in-game compensation, and other matters can be read on the transfer information website.

Blue Archive launched for Android and iOS devices in Japan in February 2021. A PC release later followed in January 2026. Yostar published the game since its release in Japan, but will transfer publishing duties to Nexon starting January 2027. If you’re interested in the game, you can check out its official JP website and follow its official X account.
