Chrono Trigger alums Masato Kato and Yasunori Mitsuda are teaming up once again for the time-traveling RPG Another Eden Begins, which will receive a physical Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 edition in 2027.
Aksys Games announced the 2027 launch date and physical editions during their Anime Expo 2026 panel on Friday, July 3, along with releasing the trailer above.
Another Eden Begins follows the adventures of the young swordsman Aldo. The game alternates between three timelines: 300 A.D. in the Kingdom of Miglance, the time period from which Aldo hails; 1100 A.D. in the shining City of Elzion, a floating metropolis; and 20,000 B.C., where humans walk hand in hand with nature. Over the course of his adventure, Aldo can recruit 19 allies from across space and time, including a samurai frog, an android, the “princess of darkness,” an Elzion agent, and a sand spirit, to name a few.
