As summer leads into autumn, I found myself forcing myself to make time each day at Dragon Con to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It is hard when there is simply so much to see and that I want to do, but I found myself centering each day just a little bit on this game and what is happening on my little island when I was in my hotel room.
So many of my islanders simply have so much personality too, even if they are incredibly weird sometimes. But I mean, I befriended a person who wore white on her way to kill a king on the dance floor. So, I can only say that I am pretty weird too. I guess that means that I fit in pretty well, don’t I, on Renassia?

While I was picking out my outfit for this week’s column, Cephalobot came knocking on my door. He came inside without much of a preamble, plopped down on a root in my home, and started reading a book. I do not really mind it when people come over, to tell the truth, but it surprised me that he was just…so casual about it. Everyone else at least wonders around and comments on things in my home. Just not Celphalobot!

It was a miracle that I got to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons at all today at Dragon Con. By the time I got back to my room, I was exhausted, and it was all I could do to load up the game and check out what was on sale today at the Nook’s Shopping kiosk. The inventory changes daily there, and so if Nook’s Cranny is closed (like it was by the time I could play Animal Crossing: New Horizons today), then I have at least the 24/7 electronic shopping option.

C.J. came to visit Renassia today, and he challenged me to catch five fish in a row from the ocean. Now, it was already heavily raining, but I was not going to let that deter me from doing so! I caught a great white shark, a sea bass, a puffer fish, a barred knifejaw, and a moray eel. I ended up turning the shark, the eel, and the puffer fish into the museum to help enhance my collection.
It was a lot of fun to run around and fish, and I sold off the other two to C.J. for a decent number of bells. Blathers also explained to me how puffer fish are not deadly like blowfish, which is nice to know.
Other than that, Tybalt taught me a new reaction today when he showed me how to strike a superhero pose!

Today was Hazel’s birthday! I am glad that I wore a crown this week. The party was a lot of fun, and I was surprised that Snooty, despite me having no say in her coming to Renassia, has really grown on me. She dispensed some real pearls of wisdom about birthdays and life, but Hazel was just excited about the cake because her SOUL needed cake. (Her words, not mine.)
I like celebrating the different islanders’ birthdays! I have started to carry random gifts on me at all times in case a birthday pops up and I was luckily carrying around a bubble machine that I gave to Hazel. Overall, a great day in the world of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

I am going to play the Stalk Market one more time. The turnips were selling for 93 Bells each, and I couldn’t just pass it up. I immediately spent around 150,000 Bells on the Stalk Market and I am gambling it all.
Tonight was also the last fireworks show of the year (presumably until New Year’s), and I unfortunately missed it since I was too busy at Dragon Con to go.

Fall has come to Renassia, but the leaves haven’t turned just yet. I don’t think I’ve ever played Animal Crossing: New Horizons as the leaves change, and I am really looking forward to it. Turnips also were selling for 103 Bells today, but I decided to desperately hold onto them for a little bit longer.
Today, I learned DIY recipes for kabu ankake and turnip salad! I learned these recipes from Daisy Mae, and I had no idea that buying turnips could lead to me learning how to make new dishes. I’ve never actually had either dish in real life before and now I am kind of curious as to how they taste. Finally, I caught a cricket today and I donated it to the museum. Blathers explained to me how crickets have ears that are next to their knees, which always surprised me.

I just sold off my turnips for 129 Bells each! I made BANK and I dumped it all into my bank account. I decided to just save as much money as I can and then pay off my current loan all at once. I am roughly 130,000 Bells away from being able to pay it off.
I also tried to catch a scorpion, and I instead got stung. This is the third, fourth, or fifth time that has happened. I have lost count, but I just know that I have absolutely no luck catching it.
I also think it is maybe time I buy the DLC…I know I keep saying that, but I feel like it is calling out to me.
Have you bought the Animal Crossing: New Horizons DLC?
What is the best turnips sell price you’ve ever seen?
