This week in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is defined by two things: Paying off debt and digging up flowers.
I want to expand my home really badly, and I want to start figuring out just what I want for my island to have for decorations instead of just…lots and lots of flowers.
I know I have a boxing ring set up inside my home, but it might be more fun to make it all an outdoors gym, though I would have to figure out how to cover the equipment up when it rains…
Lots and lots of things, once I get the outside grounds island grounds prepped!

Today, I dug up, identified, and sold fossils. I banged on rocks. I threw away trash.
After all that? I paid another 50,000 Bells towards my home loan.
It wasn’t exactly a lot of gameplay, but it was definitely important to me and for my island. I now owe only 138,000 Bells on this loan and I am beyond ready to get it done.
July 3

In my efforts to fill out my museum, I donated an academic painting (think Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man), and I completed the Stegosaurus! There are fewer and fewer fossils I still need to donate to my museum, and it is always nice to find something I actually do need rather than it just taking up space.
I also planted down two tanabata trees on either side of a red zen bridge, just to add a bit of color pop nearby my gardens as they soak up all the rain falling down.
July 4

The flowers have expanded over the top of my town hall and started creeping towards my log bridge.
I ended up digging up a ton of flowers and selling them at first. Once Nook’s Cranny closed down for the night, I ended up dumping them all into a trash can that I temporarily relocated from the beach. I did this until my shovel I DIY’d at the start broke down, and I then threw up a stone pathway in order to make sure the flowers don’t start creeping again.
Even though I got a lot done, there is still more to do, unfortunately. It turned Animal Crossing: New Horizons from something pleasant into something akin to grind work. I really wish I could just pave over the flowers as needed, without having to dig them up first.

…K.K. Slider knows Tuvan throat singing.
He continues to surprise me and I was expecting any number of things when I let him pick out what music that was going to be played on this fine Saturday night.
But K.K. Khoomei was not what I was expecting at all.
Myself, Becky, Gonzo, and Tybalt all hung out and listen to him utilize multiple tones at once while playing the guitar. Definitely give it a listen if you can!
July 6

More flower removal. This time, I pushed the removal from behind the town hall all the way to the Able Sisters’ Store. I dug enough that I broke another shovel, before I laid down a stone pathway to help prevent the flowers from spreading again.
I want to keep some flowers, but they are going to have to be tightly fenced in so they don’t wreck everything again. And this is only one small part of my island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons…
Other than that, I dropped another 40,000 Bells into my loan! I am now below 100,000 Bells in debt. Finally, a new guest came to stay in my island’s tent! Their name is Lolly, and their catchphrase is bonbon. I am not sure how I feel about this, honestly.
July 7

I may have missed the Bug-Off, but there is the Summer Fishing Tourney this Saturday! Isabelle told me when I logged into Animal Crossing: New Horizons tonight. I am definitely going to try to make this one.
Other than that, I dug up the money spot for the day and banged on rocks until I found more money. I was just plain exhausted in real life, and I couldn’t do much of anything today.
July 8

Today, I shopped at Kicks’ for new clothing and bags, and that was pretty darn cool.
My day took an unexpected turn though when I went to hit the daily money rock…and it turned out to be the sole rock still drowning in yellow flowers. I ended up getting only two coins, and so I decided that it was time to clear a pathway to and around that rock.
It took a brand-new shovel, and selling off two full inventories of flowers, but I finally cleared out the way and I connected it to the blue metal stairs.
I also cleared the crops in the area, sold all those off, and put another 50,000 Bells towards my debt.
I feel like next week is the week that I’ll be paying off my latest loan….
