It’s an odd week for me in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I spent far too much time over the weekend playing Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Global, and somehow, I still found myself helping Gullivarrr out to be picked up by his shipmates. I’m not really convinced it isn’t just Gulliver in disguise. There can’t be two of them, right?

Right?

My in-game week also ended quite unexpectedly for me, and it made me realize that I need to pick up the multiplayer aspect of this game at some point and play with other people on my island – or visit theirs, instead.

If you missed last week’s Tom Nook’s Snapshots, you can check it out here.

Animal Crossing | Gayle stops by my home for a visit.

Today, Gayle stopped by! She never comes to visit (it’s usually Hugo), and so I was happy to greet her and show off my cool home to her.

Afterwards, I visited Redd’s ship. There is a lot of questionable art there, especially today. I finally settled on a serene painting for purchase – it is supposed to be a Leonardo Da Vinci work. I am not quite sure what an Ermine is, but I will definitely take a serious gander at it whenever I am in Poland.

Animal Crossing | Blathers declaring the serene painting to be real.

If you’ve kept up with my Animal Crossing: New Horizons series so far, then you know my absolute favorite activity is clearing out my mailbox.

I dumped a bunch of things out today, sold off some more, and I submitted the serene painting to Blathers for inclusion in the museum! I am glad it turned out to be real, as it is a serious headache trying to dump fake art on my island.

Other than that, I banged around on rocks to try to find money for today. My home loan repayment process is still speeding along, and I definitely want to pay it off as soon as possible so I can have more space!

Animal Crossing | Finding the communicator for Gulivarrr.

Gullivarrr and his nautical puns were around today while it poured on my island. As he workshopped some new humor, I had to swim out into the ocean in the stormy weather to try to find his communicator device so he could be picked up and return home. I don’t ever really go swimming out in the ocean, and I should definitely do that more often. I know there is quite a bit out there to discover.

I also wish I had more inventory to carry things around with, honestly. I carry basic stuff around – like building materials and tools and a DIY table – and it does fill up my pockets rather quickly. If I had more slots, then I could do things like go into the ocean for a long period of time and just dig up whatever I can find at the water’s bottom.

Other than helping Gullivarrr, I also found a bottle with a DIY recipe for some iron armor inside of it!

Animal Crossing | Missing the Bug-Off.

I spent the entire day playing Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Global, and because of that I ended up staying out until very late in the evening. That means I missed the Bug-Off in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It’s weird to log into the game, try to have fun, and realize I just managed to miss the entire event for the day.

There are always choices to be made, for sure, and I hate that my choice today meant I missed the Bug-Off for this season.

I really didn’t feel like playing today after that happened, and so I logged out of the game.

Hugo talking about his fashion with K.K. Slider in the background.

K.K. Slider appears on Saturdays in the plaza. It is one of the few things in Animal Crossing: New Horizons that I can count on each week. Well, that and the flowers still spreading everywhere like weeds.

It therefore caught me completely by surprise when he was out and about on a Sunday evening! I found Camofrog and Hugo waiting patiently on the chairs around K.K. Slider, and he played K.K. Ska for us after Hugh talked about how he felt fashionable because there was hardly a food stain on him!

If missing the Bug-Off yesterday disappointed me, then getting a small, unexpected concert definitely perked me back up again.

Becky talking all about Timmy and not Tommy.

I discovered that Tommy is the forgotten one when Becky was teaching me the amazed reaction today. It was all “Timmy’s shop” this, and “Timmy’s shop” that, and I was surprised there was absolutely no mention of Tommy! Absolutely ridiculous, since both of them run Nook’s Cranny together and you don’t ever see one without the other.

Otherwise, I paid off another 50,000 Bells today off my home loan. That means that I am below 200,000 Bells for the first time! It’s like paying off a red zen bridge now, to tell the truth.

Tutu talks about missing a real-life friend of mine in-game.

Surfboards make Goose want to jog. He told me so inside Nook’s Cranny today when I stopped by to see what was for sale, and I stopped to chat him up.

And no – I don’t get it, either.

In other news, I dug up a bunch of fossils today and I found a sabertooth skull! I did donate it to the museum, since it completed that skeleton.

But most significantly? Tutu mentioned that she misses having a real-life friend of mine playing with me in game. She hasn’t actually played much since I started this year-long project, and I was surprised to see that Tutu remembered her. Maybe I should reach out and see if she wants to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons with me sometime in the next couple of weeks…
